  • Digital RF Engineer

    Position: Digital RF Engineer
    Department: Lab

    Role:
    The Digital RF Engineer will serve as the subject matter expert in the areas of digital RF and RF based networking topologies including LAN and WAN based systems. As amateur radio technology migrates from analog to digital and becomes increasingly dependent on software based and FPGA embedded systems, this position will be required to maintain an understanding of leading-edge work in the industry and bring that experience to ARRL in terms of developing technology, technology-based content, and provide support to members in these areas. Short term objectives will include being involved with design, deployment, and management of a high-speed wireless telecommunications network via amateur radio; documenting the process of creating and deploying a portable mesh network; coordinating with the Emergency Management department to incorporate mesh networking into the ARES program; lead development of learning modules in the ARRL Learning Center related to these technology areas.

    Summary of Position
    The Marketing Operations Manager plays an integral part in supporting ARRL’s product sales, member loyalty and member engagement. Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Innovation this position optimizes the associations marketing processes including data, people, tools, and workflows in support of ARRL’s sales and marketing goals. The incumbent will oversee the day-to-day functions of ARRL’s Sales and Marketing team, Advertising Sales Manager, and graphic design consultants. In this role you’ll be responsible for measuring, evaluating, and enhancing marketing performance.
    This position requires a highly organized individual with an understanding of marketing and membership; excellent written and verbal communication skills; a demonstrated ability to effectively multitask while paying close attention to detail; excellent follow-up; commitment to deadlines; being collaborative and enthusiastic. Keen analytical skills are required to lead our analysis and data warehouse requirements, and to create better sales and member tracking metrics across platforms to understand patterns and establish better personalization. Key areas of emphasis include membership, publication and products sales, member loyalty, and member engagement.

    The American Radio Relay League (“ARRL”) is the largest membership association for the amateur (“ham”) radio hobby and service throughout the US. For more than 100 years, ARRL has been the leading source of information about amateur radio. Our books include flagship publications such as the annual radio communications Handbook, the Antenna Book, and a suite of ham radio licensing manuals, as well as books on specific areas of radio science, technology, and practical use.


    This position includes direct customer contact, where personality and attitude are very important. The ideal candidate will be computer savvy and possess a pleasant phone personality with excellent communication skills. Data entry skills are required to process product orders and membership applications.
